An Inland 7/16" (11 mm) diamond core drill bit is a specialized tool designed to drill clean holes in hard, brittle materials like glass, stained glass, ceramic, and stone. These bits are built with a hollow, tubular center and a diamond-electroplated or sintered tip to grind away material smoothly and prevent cracking.
Applications & Usage Tips
Material: Ideal for stained glass work, drilling glass blocks, or boring holes in ceramic tile and stone.
Cooling: Although you can drill dry, using water as a coolant significantly prolongs the lifespan of the bit and prevents the glass or ceramic from overheating and cracking.
Drilling Method: Do not force the drill. Allow the diamond grit to grind the material and clear the core out of the bit periodically.
