This plan
is for a Class A Profile Jumpin Bean U-Control model airplane.
The model
can be powered with any .15 or 19 displacement engine and flown on 40 to 52
foot lines.
The plan is
an enlargement of a .049 plan. It was re-drawn on 11 x 17”
plates so it is necessary to section the fuselage view. It is
however very easy to match the drawing of the two sections.
This was
done to avoid the cost of a full sized fuselage pattern printing.
The savings is well worth the cost. Plans with a 30” wing or more are very
expensive.
Steel cable
.012 or .015 U-Control lines are recommended. If you do not have or can not
find wire this small then .020 is acceptable.
The
fuselage is cut from 1/2 or 3/8" balsa forming a profile or silhouette of the
plane. You may need some 1/16 and 1/8 ply depending on how your engine mounts.
The wing is
built up with ribs cut from 1/16 or 3/32 sheet balsa.
Sheet balsa
wings work very well if you use the KFM airfoil system. Information on the KFM wing can be
found on the internet by searching “ KFM Family of
Airfoils” This airfoil works great with U-Control models. They build simple,
fast, straight, and strong.
The tail assembly can be made from
1/8 or 3/16 sheet balsa.
You really should have some scratch
building experience as the plans contain only material
dimensions and no material or parts are included.
The origin of these plans vary from
re-drawing’s from the internet or from my
private collection.
