Danelectro
Nifty Fifty 15W Guitar/Harp Amp - Original Manual, Cable - Vintage 1990s
Condition
This
Danelectro Nifty Fifty is a clean, fully functional late-1990s amplifier that
has earned a loyal following among guitarists, recording enthusiasts, and
harmonica players alike. It works exactly as it should and is ready to play
right out of the box.
The exterior
is clean with only a couple of minor cosmetic scuffs from normal use. The
tweed-style covering and distinctive retro grille cloth remain in very good
condition and present nicely.
Included are
the original Danelectro owner's manual, AC power cord, and a tweed-jacketed
guitar cable.
One of the
features that made the Nifty Fifty famous is its unique "Dirty-Sweet"
gain control. This simple but effective circuit allows the amp to move from
warm vintage-style clean tones to gritty blues overdrive and garage-rock crunch
with excellent touch sensitivity and responsiveness.
Although it
is a solid-state amplifier, many players praise the Nifty Fifty for its
tube-like character and musical overdrive. The 3-band EQ provides a wide range
of tonal flexibility, making it suitable for blues, classic rock, roots music,
indie rock, and many other styles.
The Nifty
Fifty is also well known in harmonica circles, where many players consider it
one of the hidden gems of affordable harp amplification.
Original
Owner's Manual Included
An
especially nice bonus is the inclusion of the original Danelectro owner's
manual. In addition to operating instructions, the manual contains factory
tone-setting recommendations and example control settings for a variety of
playing styles and sounds. Original manuals are often missing from these
amplifiers, making this a desirable addition for both players and collectors.

Condition Summary
Fully tested and functioning properly. The amplifier sounds great and operates exactly as intended. Cosmetic wear consists of a few small tears in the brown covering at several corners, typical of a vintage amplifier that has been transported and used. There are some scratches along the edge of the top control panel, consistent with normal use and age. The tweed grille cloth remains in very good condition, and the overall appearance is quite clean for a vintage Nifty Fifty.
Included are the original Danelectro owner's manual, AC power cord, and tweed-jacketed guitar cable. The original manual is becoming increasingly difficult to find with these amplifiers and includes factory-recommended tone settings for a variety of sounds and playing styles.
