The attached photographs act as part of the detailed description for this item and show the overall condition of the item. Please study them carefully to satisfy yourself of its condition.
This vintage 'Decimal Ready Reckoner' book was published by Routledge and Kegan Paul Ltd. then issued by Thorn Lighting (probably from a sales rep) to a family member that worked in the accounts department at an electrical wholesalers in the early 1970's. Quite possibly in 1971 when "Britain went Decimal". I would think that a surviving Thorn Lighting issue of this book is probably 'Quite Rare' - especially in such good clean condition!
It was given to me, by the family member that had been given it, in the mid-1970's but really it has just sat unused in a drawer for the past 50 years!
And, now that I have rediscovered it while clearing out the former family home, it may as well be passed on to someone else that may have a use for it.
Measuring 19 cm x 13 cm, weighing 238 grams and with a hardcover, it is an interesting book to have .... with a table on each page as it goes up a page at a time from a 1/2 penny to a pound in 1/2 penny steps, and in multiples of 1 to 200 on each page! Oh, for those heady days before computers and pocket calculators eh!
It contains 208 pages, which are free from any writing, graffiti, stains, marks, folds, tears, etc. with all pages still firmly held in place by the binding and no damage to the spine. In fact, I would best describe the book as being in an Excellent 'Like New' condition.
