What is a monastery or a monastic rosary:

In the course of a year, we will only have to offer a limited number of these rosaries. They are normally larger than the typical rosary the types that were carried by nuns and priest and religious brothers but also by third orders about 100 years ago and prior.

Often these rosaries are very well worn with well loved medals. They have been prayed with for a very long time. They are a little more expensive because they usually require extensive repair to bring them back to life. Many arrive to us with broken beads, missing parts and a lot of detail work and cleaning needed. We do not just throw these away but rather take the time we need to bring them back to life but still try to leave them looking like they have been well loved as is appropriate. Owning one of these is a treasure much more so than owning a brand new rosary or really fancy rosary that has never been used. These have been a tool for prayer often for well over 100 years. That is precious and rare.

We ask that if you were going to purchase one of these rosaries that you make sure that it continues to be in used as an object of prayer or on display for others to admire. Thank you for helping us continue this legacy.
