Signed studio pottery bowl featuring a wide conical form with a dark lava-glazed interior and contrasting unglazed stoneware exterior.

The bowl is wheel-thrown with gently flaring sides rising from a short circular foot. The interior is finished in a dark glossy glaze with subtle mottling and texture, while the exterior retains the natural clay body with a finely speckled surface. The contrast between the dark glazed interior and earthy stoneware exterior emphasizes the vessel’s simple sculptural form.

Signed “JUDE” on the underside. Likely produced in the United States circa 1970s-1990s as part of the studio pottery movement emphasizing hand-thrown forms, natural clay surfaces, and restrained glaze treatments.

Measures approx. 8.75” diameter x 5” tall with a 2.5” foot.

Good vintage condition with light age-appropriate wear and a small chip to the underside of the foot ring that is not readily visible during display. No other noted chips or cracks.
