Newspaper articles from 1960. MLB National League to now expand to 10 teams with new Houston Texas & a NY team! (These teams later turn out to become the Colt 45's then Astros and the NY Mets).

After first turning down requests to expand, but now with the formation of the Continental League in 1959, MLB changed their mind. 3 years after the Dodgers and Giants left NY there would now be a new NL team in NY!

This is some GREAT history of the story that paved the way for New York to get the NY METS baseball team!!!
