Vintage WWII Japanese Youth School training belt.
During the wartime period, Youth Schools (Seinen Gakko) provided vocational education for boys between approximately 12 and 19 years of age. As Japan became increasingly involved in the war, these schools incorporated military drills and pre-conscription training, and uniforms and equipment became similar to those used by the military.
This original belt features the distinctive cherry blossom (sakura) buckle associated with Youth School equipment and a woven cloth belt with a central dark stripe.
Condition is consistent with age and use. The steel buckle and hardware show oxidation and finish loss. The cloth belt remains solid with scattered staining and discoloration. The buckle is hand-stitched in place as shown in the photographs.
Maximum waist size is approximately 75 cm (about 29.5 inches).
A scarce piece of wartime Japanese educational and pre-military training equipment.
