This magnificent Coalport fine bone china figurine depicts Queen Victoria, Empress of India, who reigned for over 63 years during a period of immense industrial, political, scientific, and military change within the United Kingdom and the expansion of the British Empire.
This figurine is a substantial prestige model that showcases incredible artistry and an abundance of lavish gold detailing. Masterfully modelled by Martin Evans and issued in 2000, it portrays the Queen in her full regal splendour, seated upon her throne. She wears a striking imperial crown decorated in bright blue and gold tones, paired with a shimmering pearlized white gown. Draped over her shoulders is a massive, heavy coronation robes ensemble in rich crimson red, dramatically bordered by an extensive, heavily gilded gold trim that cascades out wide around the base. Her feet rest elegantly on a matching patterned gold footstool.
This exceptional piece was released in an unusually small limited edition of just 250 pieces worldwide, a very low production run for Coalport, making it a highly desirable and rare find for serious collectors of royal memorabilia.
Standing just over 23cm tall, the figurine has no damages to the china itself and is overall in fantastic condition. The only condition note is that her gold metal sceptre has become loose from her hand. The sceptre is present (as shown lying in front of the piece plus other photos), exhibits some old glue remnants, and has a slight curve to it, though it is unclear if this curvature is part of the original design. It should be easy enough to clean up and re-glue back into her hand for proper display. Please note that it does not come with its original box or certificate of authenticity.
