Original WWII Imperial Japanese Army late-war field haversack (bread bag / utility bag).
This example bears a faded Showa 20 (1945) Osaka Arsenal Depot marking and displays several characteristic late-war simplified production features.
The adjustable shoulder strap found on earlier examples was omitted and replaced with a fixed-length web strap. The rear belt attachment was simplified to a web loop type, and the internal retaining strap normally found under the flap was eliminated to reduce material usage and manufacturing time.
The flap closure tabs are made from pigskin leather. One closure tab shows an old period repair.
Condition remains very good overall for a wartime field-used item. The canvas is strong with normal age, handling wear, and light staining. No major tears or structural damage.
A desirable late-war Japanese Army equipment item manufactured during the final months of the war.
