Casey Mize original oil painting by Gene Locklear, commissioned by Ted Williams for the Ted Williams Card Company. This was the painting that the limited 1993 insert cards were created from. Measuring 20" x 28" and matted size of 32" x 40", which can be trimmed down to desired size. Shows Casey Mize at bat, with a headshot in the background. The artist Gene Locklear was a major league player back in the 1970's, the first Lumbee Tribal member in the pros. Today, another Lumbee member is in the pros, Tyler Locklear. Gene is known for his Native American art, which has been celebrated across the country. He has paintings hanging in the White House & Pentagon, along with many sports related paintings, some used for two Superbowls as background art. This is part of a set of nine that were hidden away for 30 years. Stored in dry, dark conditions, never framed, they are in excellent condition with no fading or stains. Last pic shows the painting without the matting to show the brushstrokes. Painting can be shipped with or without the mat. Full price insurance included with signature delivery.
--Others I have in the set are Lou Brock, Enos Slaughter, Satchel Page, Yogi Berra, Carl Yastrzemski & the checklist which shows kids playing ball with headshots of the insert players in the background. I also have Willie Mays framed, but it would take some negotiation to get that one from me being my son plays with the Giants--
