Rare SOG Forge fixed blade knife made in Seki, Japan.
The Forge series was one of SOG's most distinctive Japanese-made premium knives, combining traditional Japanese blade-making influences with modern materials and construction.
This example features a VG-10 San Mai laminated blade with a visible hamon-like temper line and a textured forge-finished upper blade surface. The blade is marked "SOG 曾具鍛冶" (SOG Kaji), meaning SOG Forge.
Unlike most production examples, this knife retains a black-coated forge-textured upper blade section. Collectors have noted that examples with this configuration are believed to represent an early production or prototype-style version of the Forge series.
The knife is fitted with sculptured black G-10 handle scales and includes the original Japanese-made leather sheath. The sheath features an attractive silk kimono-fabric inlay, giving the knife a uniquely Japanese appearance. A "Made in Japan" sticker remains attached inside the belt loop.

The blade is exceptionally clean with no visible sharpening marks, scratches, chips, rust, or other damage. The original finish remains intact.
The leather sheath remains in excellent condition overall. There are a few minor storage impressions on the leather, as shown in the photographs.
A scarce Japanese-made SOG model rarely encountered on today's collector market, especially in this condition and with the uncommon black forge-finished blade configuration.
