FILMATION HISTORY
Filmation was one of the last great animation studios based in Southern California in the heart of the Entertainment world. They produced many of the great shows and series of the 1960’s thru 1980’s like Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, He Man & She Ra "Masters of the Universe”, Shazam and many others. They were one of the last animation studios that continued to produce their artwork by hand by some of the best animation artist here in the USA, when everyone was going over seas to reduce cost.
ITEM DESCRIPTION
This is a artwork cel from the Animation series BRAVO which was an unreleased spin-off of the 1980’s space western Bravestarr.
This animated series was never released by 1989 when Filmation shut down,
There may be only a few if any cel’s besides this one that ever got into the hands of the public.
This cell was done by the original Filmation artist and comes first hand from Filmation and is not reproduction cel or print.
My wife worked in many areas including the production department and as secretary to Lou Scheimer, the president of Filmation,
She knew many of the artist who work on many of Filmations animation series where she acuired this cel.
This piece was done by the original Filmation artist some time in the late 1980’s and may be a one of a kind.
