CONSERVO
Model 25
Steamer, Canner, Oven
Where the copper water pan slides in is rusted but could be repaired.

The Swartzbaugh Co. of Toledo Ohio originally manufactured and marketed the CONSERVO as a single burner steam canner/ cooker around 1907.
They could be used on any cooking stove, woodburner, camp stove, or even an open fire, as long as the heat source was enough to boil water.
They also had multiple uses as a pie safe/oven, meat smoker, and were also one of the first instrument sterilizers used by doctors.
They are great for coldpack canning, and can hold up to 14-18 quart mason jars at once.
This one, a later model 25 from the 20's or 30's, is in good shape and could still be used.
Made of tin with a copper bottom pan.
Includes:
  • All four metal racks,
  • Wood handles with wire bails
  • And the all important whistler/ filler tube
Whistles when the water gets low so more can be added.
Both doors close tight and latch securely, and all the hinges are solid.
Nice original patina on the outside,
