This is a sublime antique French framed religious print dating from the 19th Century. It is after Raphael's 'Madonna della seggiola' depicting Mary embracing the child Christ, while the young John the Baptist devoutly watches.

It is a fabulously atmospheric print and is held in a gorgeous gilded gesso on wood frame. The frame is rectangular in shape with an oval glass display area. There is a decorative outer and inner border with scrolls to each corner.

There is a metal fixture on the back for hanging.

The print and it's frame are sturdy. The cardboard back has warped a little from the passage of time and there is a little distressing to the gilding on the top of the frame but absolutely nothing to detract from the beauty of this lovely old picture.

The print in it's frame measures :- 36.75 cm (14.4 inches) high x 30.75 inches (12.1 inches) wide.
