Economical pH Tester

The first pH tester was released in 1986 and was known as pH electronic paper (pHep). This pH meter is based on that same iconic design that brought pH testing to the masses.

The Milwaukee is an excellent choice for those that have not used pH meters before due to the simplicity in design and being very cost effective.

Simple Calibration

pH600 is calibrated manually to a single point.

• Remove storage cap and switch the meter on.
• Rinse probe end of the meter with purified water.
• Place the pH600 in pH 7.01 buffer. Use enough solution submerse glass sensing bulb.
• Using the supplied flat head screwdriver adjust the trimmer on the back of the meter until the reading matches pH 7.0.
• Rinse with purified water and the meter is ready to use.

Laboratory Grade pH Bulb

The pH600 uses a high quality pH glass sensing membrane. This is the most important part of any pH measuring system.

• Milwaukee is one of a handful of companies that can actually make the hand-blown glass bulb. We have worked with the Univeristy of Murano, Italy in formulating our glass composition and feel we have some of the best sensors on the market.
• General Purpose (GP) glass for use with a wide range of applications. Other glass types include low and high temperature formulations.

What is Salt Creep?

Combination pH electrodes have a reference cell filled with solution or gel that is made with potassium chloride (KCl). For Milwaukee we use 3.5M KCl in our reference cell.

A storage solution is added to the storage cap on the electrode to maintain this concentration and to keep both the glass and junction hydrated.

It is perfectly normal to see this salt around the storage cap or around the refill port for refillable probes. It takes a very short time to see the "Salt Creep". Just wash off with water.

If the solution has dried out in the storage cap the soak in storage solution overnight. If no storage solution is available then use either pH 4 or 7 buffer. This will re-hydrate the glass and junction.

***Never store a pH electrode in purified water for a period of time. It will change the concentration of the fill solution.
