FILMATION HISTORY
Filmation was one of the last great animation studios based in Southern California in the heart of the Entertainment world. They produced many of the great shows and series of the 1960’s thru 1980’s like Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, He Man & She Ra "Masters of the Universe”, Shazam and many others. They were one of the last animation studios that continued to produce their artwork by hand by some of the best animation artist here in the USA, when everyone was going over seas to reduce cost.
ITEM DESCRIPTION
This is an iconic RARE Fat Albert and Cosby Kids “Junk Yard Band” animation cel done by the original Filmation Artists.
The Junk Yard Band includes (From Left): Rudy, Mushmouth, Russell, Bill, Weird Herold, Fat Albert, Dumb Donald, & Bucky
This Original cel comes first hand from Filmation and is not a reproduction cel or print.
My wife worked in many areas including the production department and as secretary to Lou Scheimer, the president of Filmation,
and knew many of the artist who work on Fat Albert series.
This piece was done by the original Filmation artist some time in the early-mid 1970’s.
“Fat Albert and The Coby Kids” animation series ran 1972 thru 1985 with over 110 episodes.
