This is an absolutely beautiful sounding Marantz 2230 vintage receiver. This is one of the few receivers that Marantz built with a capacitor coupled design that some people say sounds very close to tube amplifiers. It produces a very warm smooth sound with plenty of bass. I currently own several Marantz vintage receivers and the 2230 remains my favorite of all of them. I have replaced most of the capacitors and transistors on both amplifier boards as well as the tone board and I replaced the power and filter capacitors as well. All parts used were high grade Audio quality parts. Most of the lights were replaced with new LED bulbs but I tried to keep them looking like they did from the factory. Nothing super bright. All controls were cleaned and there is no static or cracking while using them. The tuner pointer doesn't point exactly at the station that you're on but it's close enough that it's not worth the effort to fix. It looks like this was stored in somebody's basement so there is some rust on the inside as seen in the pictures but it doesn't affect the sound whatsoever and I'm selling this at a bit of a discount because of that. I also replaced the volume potentiometer and the feet with new parts. New thermal paste was applied to the output transistors during reassembly.
Bid with confidence, I used this receiver in my home for a few months without issue after the repairs.
The picture showing capacitors and transistors replaced is not a picture of all of the parts that were replaced... I just took that picture during the process but there were quite a few other transistors, capacitors and potentiometers that were replaced that I didn't stop to take pictures of. Also, the picture showing the voltages on the oscilloscope works out to this amplifier producing 34.4 W of power, a little more than what it was rated for at the factory.
