1982 Triumph Acclaim CD Triomatic
This example is likely to be the closest you might get to a new Acclaim and is the lowest mileage CD known to exist. It’s never been seen or shown in public before.
‘Teddy the Triumph’ was purchased brand new in March 1982 by Mr John Sharp for his wife from Peck and Packer Austin Rover in March, Cambs. She drove it locally until 1985, covering a mere 19,714 miles, and then parked it in the open front barn with it not seeing the light of day again until 2025. Her husband bought her a brand new Maestro Mayfair, hence Teddy never going for his first MOT!
The car is completely untouched, down to it still sporting the original (and now flat!) tyres from 1981. It is completely and utterly original. Teddy requires full recommissioning (new cam belt, drain fluids, brakes, etc, and some surface rust on the door where the car faced the elements), but when done, it will be the best Acclaim out there bar the one at Gaydon. Underneath and inside, including the boot, is absolutely spotless and as new.
Teddy now needs a good home, as I have run out of space, time, and money, on some of my other classics. Offered to the market for the first time in the car's history.
Put a brand new battery on the car today and she fired up and ran, so should be fine for loading purposes etc.
A member of the Acclaim Owners Group recently visited and placed a value of £5-£6k on it and £9-£10k when completed.
This is a one owner from new motor car (has 'None' on the V5), with original documentation, handbooks, and purchase receipt for £5,750 from Peck and Packer. Probably unrepeatable!
Viewings welcome. You'll need a trailer as I've disconnected the battery and it has flat (original 1981!) tyres.
Find another (as they all say, but in this case, it’s probably true!)! Relisted yet again due to a timewaster!!
