I didn’t find Melinda in a shop or a sale.
I found her in a place that already felt wrong — an abandoned farmhouse outside of Milbank that was being cleared for demolition. I was there with permission to look through what remained, mostly old furniture and forgotten boxes. Her vessel was sitting upright on the floor of an upstairs bedroom, positioned perfectly in the center of the room as if someone had placed her there deliberately.

The moment I stepped inside, the temperature dropped so sharply that my breath fogged.
The EMF meter in my bag turned on by itself.

That was my first warning.

Her Back Story

Through spirit board sessions, pendulum work, and several deeply uncomfortable encounters, Melinda revealed fragments of her past.

She lived in the early 1900s and died in her early twenties. She was not gentle in life, and she is not gentle in death. She described herself as a guardian, but not the comforting kind — the kind that watches, judges, and punishes. She protected what she believed was hers with a ferocity that frightened even those closest to her.

Her death was violent, tied to a confrontation she refuses to fully explain. What she has made clear is that she remained behind by choice, not by accident. She attached herself to her vessel as a way to continue guarding what she considers “her territory.”

Melinda is not a lost soul.

She is intentional.

Melinda is cold, territorial, and hyper‑aware.
She does not tolerate disrespect.
She does not tolerate intrusion.
She does not tolerate being ignored.

Her presence feels like:
