The Last Alarm is a 1940 American drama about a veteran firefighter who is forced to retire due to his age. When a dangerous arsonist begins setting fires across the city, the old firefighter defies orders to help his former colleagues and his son track down the pyromaniac before more lives are lost.
The film is a solid, low-budget B-movie with strong action sequences, realistic fire-fighting scenes, and a heartfelt father-son story.
It stars J. Farrell MacDonald as the veteran firefighter, Mary Gordon, Warren Hull, and Polly Ann Young.
