Be cautious of licenses on eBay that are listed at “too-good-to-be-true” prices. There are packaged licenses that are duplicated by foreign contractors that are reusing license keys on inappropriately issued products.

What to watch out for:

·         If the price of Windows Server is less than $200.00, it is likely not legitimate.

·         Some may have labels that say “NOT A VALID COA” these are packages with labels that are printed during an issued packaging test. The keys on them may work, but they are not legitimate for actual end use.

·         Always check for misspelling of words in certain areas where none should exist. (Essentially there should be none with very few exceptions in some cases).

·         There are valid genuine packaged products, you just want to be sure they are issued by an official source and that they are properly issued or sourced from reliable vendors.

·         This is easily determined by the pricing of the items. There is a point where the discount is not feasible when viewing the very base cost that one can acquire a legitimate license for to be resold.  Here are some examples:
