This stunning, beautiful, automatic stainless steel Omega Seamaster 120m Chronometer model has a blue dial. The 21-jewelled automatic movement cal.1108 was fully serviced on 24th April 2026 and is keeping excellent time. The official Omega reference for this watch is 2501.80.00. Omega Seamaster was introduced in 1948 as one of three ‘Master’ watches for special missions. The mission here would be underwater. As we all know, the Seamaster heritage helped make it the choice of a certain very special 007 agent on screen. The Seamaster model was, in essence, an evolution from the rugged pilot’s watch produced earlier for the RAF and many other air forces. It was supposed to be capable of withstanding rough use and still remain stylish. Calibre 1108 has been based on the ETA 2890-A2 movement. It was created in 1993 and only used for a few years. There have been 214,000 pieces used. The case measures 36mm without the crown and 43mm lug to lug, and it is marked with the Seamaster logo. The caseback has a reference 168.1501. The first three digits stand for: 1 – Gent’s watch, 6 – Self-winding centre second, and 8 – Water Resistant Chronometer Calendar. If we look very carefully above the model reference, there is a tiny maker’s mark EPSA – a coded emblem of Georges Ervin Piquerez SA, the firm that manufactured this case. In common with IWC, Rolex, Jaeger LeCoultre and its other close competitors, Omega was not a manufacturer of watch cases and instead purchased these from a small network of third-party suppliers that specialised in this field. The original dark blue dial has a textured fluted centre ring, fluorescent Omega stick hands, a red arrowhead seconds hand and applied round hour markers. The original crown is signed with the Omega logo. This watch has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. An original Omega bracelet made in France has a reference 1501/823, and link ends 823. It can fit a 190 mm wrist. The watch will arrive in a new presentation box. We give the future owner a 3-month warranty for peace of mind. Please study the pictures carefully, as these are at great magnification and show all the flaws that second-hand watches always have.
