Up for your consideration is a stunning French Bulldog carving inkwell from Paris, France dating to the 1890’s. This was picked up by my Grandfather somewhere in his many travels. He was a British Military Officer during World War II and later a Diplomat. This belonged to a French witch who lived in a Paris brothel in the 1920’s. According to my Grandfather, she kept a potion in the inkwell that wound ward off evil spirts. This has been displayed in my office for many years. It must work, because U have never encountered an evil spirt. Heavy for its size, it measures 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide. Amazing glass eyes. This 1890's Lignum Vitae French made inkwell features a carved English Bulldog with glass eyes, adding a unique and collectible touch to any pen and writing instrument collection.
