This is a divine antique French jewel / sewing box dating from the Napoleon III era C1860. It would be perfect to take a few precious trinkets in a château chic boudoir.
The box is covered in it's original sumptuous red silk velvet.
It sits on 4 tiny metal stud feet. The lid of the box has a gorgeous gilded metal acanthus leaf embellishment to each of the corners and the centre. There is also a cute little escutcheon.
The lid lifts up to reveal an interior lined with red silk. There is a looped strap in the lid to take accessories.
The box is in good antique condition. The silk interior is clean with no wear. There is a little scuffing to the bottom back right hand corner (please see pics). The gilding on the metal has mellowed a little with the passage of time. The key to the box has long gone.
The box measures :- 23 cm (9 inches) wide x 16.5 cm (6.4 inches) deep x 9.5 cm (3.7 inches) high.

Returns
Returns are accepted within 14 days.
The buyer pays for tracked shipping.

any item you return must be well packed
and received in exactly the same condition as sent.
Once we have received the returned item
and have verified its condition, we will issue the refund .
