Sitting Pretty is a 1948 American comedy about a suburban couple who hire an eccentric but highly capable gentleman named Lynn Belvedere as a babysitter for their three mischievous children. To everyone's surprise, the sophisticated Mr. Belvedere brings perfect order to their chaotic household while becoming the center of neighborhood gossip, romantic speculation, and endless amusement.
The film is a witty, charming, and very entertaining family comedy that spawned a popular series of Mr. Belvedere films.
It stars Clifton Webb as the brilliant and haughty Mr. Belvedere, Robert Young and Maureen O'Hara as the suburban parents, and Richard Haydn in a memorable supporting role.
