This is a fabulous long antique French tapestry château curtain dating from the 19th Century. It would make a wonderful decorative finishing touch to a single window or could perhaps be used as a porière.

The curtain is made in a woven cotton tapestry. The tapestry has a gorgeous roses, bows and scrolls design on a dark champagne background. 

The right hand edge of the curtain is sewn with a bobble passementerie. 

The top of the curtain is sewn with 3 pleats and has some metal rings. 

The curtain is lined and is finished all round.

We have left the curtain as we found it. It has survived the years in good antique condition. There are 2 pulls in the tapestry at the very top of the curtain (please see photos) otherwise the textile is intact and has no obvious marks. The bobbles on the passementerie are all present. The curtain has not been dry cleaned. 

It measures :- 277 cm (9 ft 1 inch) long x 124 cm (4 ft 0.8 inches) wide at the bottom and 99 cm (3 ft 2.9 inches) at the top.

This is a fabulous antique French curtain to add an authentic château chic statement and another divine period French textile find from La Belle Étoffe.
