Fine Molds’ Studio Ghibli series, which has previously featured models of airplanes and robots from the films, is expanding into a new genre. To vividly capture the characters in scenes from the movies, we’ve collaborated with Kaiyodo—a pioneer and leading figure in the figure-making industry—to release these as assembly kits. The first release features Porco Rosso from “Porco Rosso,” which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. It depicts the opening scene of the film, where Porco Rosso receives a phone call at his hideout announcing the arrival of the Sky Pirates. Despite his reluctant dialogue, the scene reveals that he is already fully prepared for takeoff, sparking the imagination with anticipation for the spectacular flight sequences and exhilarating aerial combat scenes to follow.
