"For Your Consideration" CDs are manufactured for the networks & studios for the sole purpose of distributing them to members of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (who vote for the Emmy's) or the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (who vote for The Oscars) to solicit votes for their TV show/movie nominee. Because they're made in such limited quantities, they are hard to find, highly collectable and sought after by fans. Another reason these FYC copies are rare is because many of them get thrown out after listening to them (if they're listened to at all), as they're pretty much thought of as "Hollywood Junk Mail".
Depending on the studio and how much money they want to spend on these copies, they may be packed in a simple jewel case or in very fancy, eye catching or gimmicky packaging. Many CDs are sent out with no inlay in the jewel case front. The labeling on the CD visible through the clear plastic case front is used as a visual.
