Night Tide is a 1961 American fantasy-horror film about a young sailor on shore leave who falls in love with a mysterious and beautiful woman who works as a mermaid performer in a sideshow. As their romance deepens, he begins to suspect she may actually be connected to the ocean in a supernatural way — and that she could be responsible for the strange deaths of previous men in her life.
The film is a dreamy, atmospheric, and melancholic blend of romance, mystery, and subtle horror with a strong cult following.
It stars Dennis Hopper as the sailor, Linda Lawson as the enigmatic Mora, and Gavin Muir.
