A fine and characterful George III period brass and wrought iron footman, dating to around c.1810.
This attractive early 19th-century hearth piece features a pierced brass top with traditional heart and club-shaped cut-out decoration. It stands on a sturdy wrought iron frame with shaped legs and drop loop handles to each side.
Originally used beside the fire as a footman’s stool or warming stand for dishes, it now makes a superb decorative and functional accent piece for a period home, country house interior, fireplace setting, or antique collection.
