Gorgeous antique Czech Bohemian or possibly Austrian powder box comprised of rich cranberry frosted art glass with heavy enamel hand painted Art Nouveau stylized maiden. To me this looks to represent the Art Nouveau Era that emerged in Austria. Featuring metal ormolu gold framework with hinged lid. Comes with its original funky and adorable figure head powder puff, which is in pretty good condition, some light residue of powder. Not only a fine example of antique art glass, but a charming whimsey treasure from the 19th century. Unsigned. These antique boxes are truly wonderful, ranging in a variety of colors and shapes and such absolutely beautiful, great to collect and display for all to see. Box set into bronze dore mounts, has hinged lid; hinge and clasp work properly. It is in excellent antique condition, has manufacture production air bubbles, particularly in one area, commensurate with age, no chips or cracks, patina to the bronze otherwise just excellent. See my other antique boxes from the same collector. Condition, the glass is in very good condition. Some examples for sale in my store are shown in the last photo.
