The M-75 was released in 1952 as the M-75 Aristocrat, a full-hollowbody guitar without f-holes. Production was temporarily discontinued, but it was revived in 1967 and officially renamed "M-75 Bluesbird" in 1968.
Initially, it followed the semi-hollow structure of the M-75 Aristocrat, but later changed to a solid body. It features a chambered (hollow) structure with a larger center block than typical semi-hollowbody guitars, making the inside almost completely hollow.
The body is laminated maple, the neck is mahogany, the fingerboard is rosewood, and it's equipped with Guild's original "HB-1" humbucker pickups. The bridge has been changed to a TUNE-O-MATIC, with added reinforcement to the stud area.
Two potentiometers and the switch have been replaced. The strap pins have been replaced.
There is a crack in the front pickup ring that has been glued. It appears that a tailpiece of a different shape was previously installed, as the screw holes have been filled.
The tailpiece and bridge area have been repainted. The finish is so natural that it's barely noticeable unless you look closely.
The paint on the back of the neck is significantly chipped, but it's not sticky. The celluloid on the neck heel is missing and has been painted black.
There are some paint chips on the back, around the jack, and other areas. While it has been worked on to some extent, it has been meticulously maintained and is in good condition for continued use.
The neck is straight and in good condition, and the truss rod functions properly. The nut and frets have been replaced, and the frets appear to have been played very little, with minimal wear and plenty of height remaining.
The nut width is approximately 41.5mm, and the C-shape neck has a slightly thin, clean grip, making it very playable. Weight: 2.71KG.
Hard case included.
