For sale is this antique British copper measuring cup.  It is for measuring a 1/2 gill of liquid.  This is possibly a measurement used in the Royal Navy for a tot of rum.  I would estimate it is at least 100 years old. It has an official government stamp as well as 1/2 gill stamped into the copper.  The inside of the cup is tinned.  The rather crude handle is riveted.  The measuring cup measures about 7 centimeters tall and weighs 90 grams.  Condition is pretty good with some dents and wear from handling over time.
