The Charge of the Light Brigade is a 1936 American adventure epic loosely based on the famous 1854 Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War. The story follows two brothers in a British cavalry regiment who find themselves caught in a love triangle with the same woman while facing political intrigue, betrayal, and ultimately the disastrous but heroic charge against Russian forces.
The film is a grand, swashbuckling spectacle known for its thrilling action sequences, impressive battle scenes, and classic Errol Flynn heroism.
It stars Errol Flynn as Major Geoffrey Vickers, Olivia de Havilland as Elsa Campbell, Patric Knowles as his brother Captain Perry Vickers, and Donald Crisp and Henry Stephenson in supporting roles.
