Night Nurse is a 1931 American Pre-Code drama about a tough, dedicated young nurse who takes a job caring for two wealthy but neglected children. She soon discovers that the children are being abused and slowly starved by their alcoholic mother and a sinister chauffeur. Risking her career and her life, she fights to save the children from their dangerous situation.
The film is a gritty, fast-paced, and socially conscious Pre-Code classic known for its strong female lead and dark subject matter.
It stars Barbara Stanwyck as the fearless nurse Lora Hart, Joan Blondell as her friend, Clark Gable (in an early villainous role) as the menacing chauffeur, and Ben Lyon..
