Mr. Peabody and the Mermaid is a 1948 American fantasy-comedy about a middle-aged, respectable businessman named Mr. Peabody who, while on a relaxing vacation in the Caribbean, catches a beautiful mermaid in a lagoon. He secretly brings her back to his cottage and tries to hide her existence from his wife and the outside world, becoming increasingly enchanted by her.
