A finely proportioned Japanese porcelain bottle vase, decorated in the Kakiemon with hand-enamelled floral sprays, rockwork, foliage and gilt highlights against a soft creamy white ground.
The vase has an elegant pear-shaped lower body rising to a narrow waisted neck, with a gilt line to the rim and double blue line decoration above the foot. The painted scheme is characteristically spare and asymmetrical, with iron-red flowers, green leaves, blue rockwork and gilded floral accents, closely following the decorative vocabulary associated with Arita Kakiemon porcelain.
The underside carries an underglaze blue two-character Takiyama mark. The unglazed footrim shows age-related staining and wear, consistent with an earlier Japanese porcelain piece. Offered as Meiji / Taisho period, circa 1900–1920.
Condition
Good antique condition.
The vase has been lightly conservation cleaned. There remains age-related staining and wear to the unglazed footrim, along with minor rubbing to the gilt rim and small areas of expected enamel/gilt wear. No chips, cracks or repairs noted.
Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the condition description.
