Laughing Sinners is a 1931 American Pre-Code drama about a lively and carefree cabaret singer who falls madly in love with a charming but irresponsible traveling salesman. After he abandons her without warning, she spirals into despair and attempts suicide, only to be saved by a kind and dedicated Salvation Army officer. She then tries to reform her life and help others, but her wild past continues to haunt her.
The film blends romance, melodrama, and themes of redemption with strong Pre-Code elements.
It stars Joan Crawford as the singer Betsy, Neil Hamilton as the lover, and Clark Gable (in one of his early major roles) as the Salvation Army officer.
