TETANUS
(Clostridium tetani)
Here is some critically important advice that you probably don't need to hear (again):
1) Don't step on rusty nails! (IT HURTS!!!)
2) Don't step on non-rusty nails! (IT STILL HURTS!!!)
3) Keep it simple...Avoid any and ALL deep cuts and puncture wounds!!!
Nasty germs (like TETANUS) are fairly common and can be found just about everywhere, including on your skin. Your skin is there to keep all sorts of nasty germs outside of your body. Deep cuts and puncture wounds allow all sorts of nasty germs to enter INSIDE of your body. If/when this happens, your problems can become a lot WORSE than just dealing with the wound. This is an especially important reason to keep track of when you had your last booster vaccine for TETANUS, which can easily make a situation go from BAD to WORSE...to DEAD.
In case of a new wound and you're not sure when your last shot was, it is time to get another TETANUS booster...and FAST!!!
