This is a rugged and great looking Victorinox Swiss made automatic chronograph with an exceptional light Green dial. It is their Infantry Vintage model, which features a telemeter track used by military, instead of the standard tachometer racing track on most chronographs. The telemeter is used by infantry to gauge artillery fire distance. In regular life, it is useful for things like judging distance of a lightning strike or storm from you.
The watch is powered by the venerable 25 jewelled Swiss made ETA Valjoux 7750 chronograph movement, which can be seen through the exhibition caseback. Consistent with being a tool watch, the movement is undecorated, except for the circular Geneva striping on the Victorinox-signed rotor. All functions work as they should, and the watch runs well.
At 44 mm wide without the crown, this watch fits best on medium to larger men’s wrists. Overall it’s is in good condition and looks great for a tool watch. The top sapphire crystal is scratch-free to the eye. The dial and hands are superb. The case shows light scratches and marks throughout from normal wear, but nothing major. The exhibition caseback likely has a mineral crystal and shows some light marks.
The watch comes on a new light brown purposefully weathered aftermarket long-sized strap that matches the look of this watch very well. The original Victorinox strap and deployant clasp is included — the leather on that original strap shows a bunch of wear - the original clasp has some light scratching but looks good and works well.
While I do not have the original box, I will ship this watch carefully packed. This was one of Victorinox’s premium models from the early 2000s. With my ultra-low starting bid on this great Victorinox watch, you will now likely find another for less.
