Vintage Japanese Painting Two Fish on Washi Paper Signed Idō Framed Meiji/Shōwa

Item specifics to set:

Description:

A charming antique Japanese painting depicting two spotted stream fish (char/trout type) swimming among reeds and water plants. Hand-painted in ink and soft watercolour washes on handmade washi paper — under magnification you can see the ink bleeding into the paper fibres and brushed outlines, consistent with an original painting rather than a printed reproduction.

Signed in the lower corner with the brushed art-name 以堂 (read "Idō"). I have not been able to match this art-name to a documented artist, so it is offered unattributed — please judge from the photos. There is no seal and no label on the reverse.

Presented in a black lacquered frame with a silk-covered mat and gold paper border — a typical period presentation for Japanese works of this kind.
