ORIGINAL VINTAGE WWII JAPANESE ORDER OF THE RISING SUN 7th CLASS

The Order of the Rising Sun 7th Class was established in 1875. Primarily awarded for meritorious public or military service, it was discontinued in 2003 when the Japanese honors system was reorganized. The 7th Class was typically awarded to enlisted military personnel, non-commissioned officers, police officers, and junior civil servants. It is a sterling silver medal shaped as a cluster of paulownia leaves and flowers featuring green and purple enamel on the obverse and reverse, distinguishing it from the plain silver 8th Class.
