Welcome to The Textile Trunk ~ Thank you for over 25 wonderful years of helping bring these beautiful antique textiles and decorative items to life again!

I've collected these amazing embroidered pieces for many years and I'm selling my collection. To see the others, simply search my store for the word Framed! I've had many many years of joy collecting these pieces ~

This beautiful textile work of art likely dates from around 1790–1810 and is stitched on a soft ivory silk ground. The scene is centered on a three-dimensional hanging basket, exquisitely worked in padded satin stitch using golden and coppery silk threads. It's surrounded by delicate embroidered floral garlands and bows in shades of white, soft grey-blue, and pale olive. The palette is dreamy and refined, and the workmanship is truly remarkable!

The frame is a simple dark wood with a gently beveled edge and glass front. The embroidery appears to be laid down on board within the frame but has not been examined out of frame. It displays beautifully as is!

CONDITION:
This textile work of art is in gorgeous condition with signs of time and use. There are a few subtle surface wrinkles in the silk ground, minor thread thinning in places, and some gentle fading, all consistent with its age. These signs of time and use are part of its journey, adding to its authenticity as an antique textile. Please use the zoom feature on the photographs to examine the exact condition.

Not only do I feel so fortunate to share these antique works of art for use in our homes today, but this also supports eco-friendly practices by giving old materials a new life through upcycling and creative reuse.
