One of the most extraordinary antique French quilts I've ever had the privilege of owning. This textile dates c1780. One side is a fabulous Batons Rompus design and the other is such a sweet strawberry and floral design. Each side was hand block printed with the addition of indigo being penciled. I've never , without exception , found an 18th century quilt in such superb condition. I can not find a flaw. It's in museum quality condition. This textile is hand quilted and hand stitched with a light cotton batting. As far as condition, there is nothing to report. It's as fresh as the day it was made! Extraordinary . I hand washed it and it's ready to use, study and enjoy ~
MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures approx. 68 inches by approx. 60 inches.
CONDITION: Freshly laundered. Nothing to report. An extraordinary find.
