Therese Frere (Canadian, 1926-2025), “Barr’d Island Sunset” (Fogo Island, Newfoundland), 

limited edition lithographic print of a pastel painting, signed and numbered (6/250) in pencil lower right and titled lower left, in a dark stained wood frame measuring 18-5/8″ x 20-9/16″. 

Frere studied art at the Ottawa School of Art, the Banff School of Fine Arts, and has works in both public and private collections in Canada, the United States, Japan, and Europe, as well as works included in books. She was born in Quebec and lived in Ontario, but is most well known for her paintings of Newfoundland and Labrador, which captured the rugged beauty of these costal settings in often bold colors and strong forms.
