In 1984, Platinum introduced a revised nib design that remained faithful to the original concept while becoming slightly broader and more refined in appearance. This second-generation nib retained the traditional JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards) hallmark found on vintage Japanese gold nibs and is often regarded by collectors as the classic #3776 era.
