Our 17" spare tire will work with the OEM 16" or 17" wheels. The wheel has been chosen for clearance and the tire has been matched for diameter. A 125/80R17 spare size is within the accepted tolerance range for temporary use with all OEM tire diameters for this Subaru generation.
The overall tire height (not the wheel size) is the consideration for the spare tire fitment. The 17" spare wheel is then chosen for proper fitment and does not interfere with the brake or suspension system. This is regardless of the OEM wheel option that came on the vehicle.
