Elsworth was connected in Illinois and a friend of Lincoln. He was a zouave leader. Chicago imprints of Col. Elsworth carry their own significance. All pre-fire, of course. Those that survive in nice condition and in full size are additionally recognized. Scarce in unbound condition, great rag paper. Complete at 7 pages w/music by well known J.P. Webster. Chicago's excellent lithographic shop - Charles Shober - did the fine black and white litho. Sold on eBay in 2024 for $195 (auction result attached).

Washington D.C. store stamp from John Ellis, southern sympathizer, who would sell from his store on Pennsylvania Ave. in 1868 the music that lionized John Wilkes Booth's assassination of Lincoln - 'Our Brutus' - a very famous music imprint. Only 5 or 6 complete copies of that exist.
