Heavy postwar reproduction katana mounted in Japanese military style koshirae. This is not a traditionally made Japanese sword and is being sold strictly as a decorative / collectible item.

The sword features ray skin handle wrapping with thin tsuka-ito and no menuki ornaments. The plain flat brass kashira and brass tsuba appear to be Showa-period manufactured pieces. There are no proper seppa spacers installed, and the tsuba has slight looseness.

The blade has an aged gray surface with plating wear and cloudy oxidation throughout. The mounting has a substantial heavy feel and appears to have been assembled over 30 years ago.

The wooden scabbard is fitted with a canvas combat-style cover reinforced with leather at the tip, inspired by tropical theater field covers seen on Japanese swords during WWII.
